Because it's front heavy it deployed perfectly for me. My test trip was in 3-4ft swell every 3-6 seconds. Held perfectly and you could tell when pulling up via the winch it had a solid hold. My set-up is, 1 mt chain to stainless swivel knuckle then 5mtrs 6mm short link chain spliced to rope. 56kg cable tie break off (not tested).

Absolutely love this anchor! It's hooked every time ive put it down even on sand and mud. Gone through 3 shear pins before upgrading to the large. This anchor is well worth the money!!

We had the anchor for our previous boat, and we knew that when we brought our new boat, a Polly, we were not going out in it until we put on another Boomer Anchor. We trust these anchors; they do what they say they will do. We highly recommend them for any boats.
Used it in my 6.4 m fibreglass boat yesterday for the first time. We anchored up on sand with a racing tide. Did not move an inch. Also like the fact that it’s not overly heavy which shows how good the design is. Very impressed. Thanks again

Finally got to try out my new boomer anchor. Weather wasn’t what was predicted but an opportunity to test the anchor out. 12-15 kn with 1-1.5m swell. Held the 7m glass solid as. Went to a spot that has claimed anchors before and sure enough the anchor locked in. The sheer pin did its job and anchor was retrieved successfully. Thanks boomer super confident in my anchor holding in all bottom terrain and weather conditions. Andy

Such a great all round anchor with fast holding, no more changing anchors. Great customer service super Fast response when asked a couple of questions when setting up in drum winch. Highly recommend

Fits perfectly..holds really well in all sea bottoms. The Pin 4mm is suffcient and break when needed if stuck. I will also try the 5mm pin.

Sometimes it us harder to sell something to a mate than to the general public. I am biased, but I am so confident in the performance and safety features of this anchor, I have sold them to mates with beautiful boats like this brand new 720 Cruisecraft. Thankfully, they are all very happy. "Phew" :)
Fits really well in a LSM sprit. Work very well self launching with a LSM GX3 drum winch. I haven't yet used it in heavy sea or heavy run but i am VERY happy with it so far. 7m glass boat.

Definitely worth the price, new to boating and lost the anchor that came with it due to it getting stuck in rocks. Started off with the small shear pin in and it still holds well when needed and when stuck the shear pin worked perfect releasing the anchor. Will be a great learning tool for me without having to fork out for a new anchor every time i get it slightly stuck. Holds surprisingly well in sand, havent tried mud as of yet
It's a well built anchor and it engages on a first drop. I'm pretty happy with it and even tested it with a three overnight stay at Rottnest island. The first two nights were fine, on the third night the wind picked up and we ended up dragging the anchor. However, I don't think this was an anchor shortcoming. The bottom was quite grassy and the Boomer anchor guys do say that for overnight stays in more challenging conditions to use a heavier, spade anchor. Maybe if a heavier duty Boomer anchor model is introduced with larger holding fins and anchor weight, then overnight stays in windy conditions will be fine too. Overall I'm very happy with the anchor.
